The E. Jay Bell papers (1833-2003) contain materials primarily concerned with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). As an amateur historian, Edward Jay Bell (1948-2003) amassed a large collection of letters, papers, talks, speeches, pamphlets, and books on the subject of religion; with the focus on the LDS Church. The first part of this collection pertain to his work on LDS Church history. This first section has information on LDS Church policies, leaders, beliefs, and structure. The later papers of his collection relate issues affecting homosexuals and the relationship of homosexuals to the Mormon Church.
